This Ferrari F40 has had only one previous owner and thus comes with all papers first hand. It is in an accident free, original condition. All the necessary maintenance and repairs (incl. cam belt) have been recently carried out.
As a supercar of the Italian sportscar manufacturer Ferrari, the design of the F40 was personally driven by Enzo Ferrari in 1986 for the 40th year anniversary of the company and was then build from 1987 until 1992. Through the use of racing car technology, like body parts made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic, it was considered, for technology, as the newest state of the art. The F40 was until then the fastest and strongest Ferrari for road use and visually a special model and the last Ferrari that was developed under the direction of Enzo Ferrari.
The F40 was sold back then exclusively to selected buyers for 444,000 DM (today about 380,000 Euros). These primarily include longstanding Ferrari customers and celebrities. Originally only 450 units were to be made. The first models are identified by the sliding side windows, the production was then changed to normal crank windows. Because of the unexpected high demand, in total 1315 vehicles were made, 900 in the first year. Two units were shipped out with a black paint finish, less than ten in yellow. One unit in white was sent to the Sultan of Brunei. None of these vehicles came on the market though, rather went directly after production to a place in the Ferrari Museum. (jhu)
