Description: This framed print of The Goldfish, completed in 1912, depicts four goldfish swimming in a fish bowl on a table. The original oil on canvas is displayed in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow. Henri Matisse (1869-1954) was a French artist known for bold colors, was the founder of "fauvism" and was one of three artists accredited with the development of "plastic arts". His mastery of the classical tradition of French painting over a half-century, gained him recognition as a leading figure in modern art. Including the frame, the dimensions are 28 1/4 inches wide by 40 1/4 inches high. Without the frame the dimensions are 23 inches wide by 35 inches high. All measurements are approximate.
