« Quil est doux de recevoir des marques du souvenir de mon cher Monsieur le president que tout le monde cherit, et que les princes recherchent ; si vous m'adorez de loin, il faut convenir que vous ne m'aimez guere de prez, puisque la veille de mon depart vous m'avez evité honteusement, mais je suis sans rancune, et je ne feray plus de reproches ». Il raille l'abbé d'Harcourt, fils du maréchal, aux propos dignes d'un « officier de l'Inquisition [...] luy et ses freres serviront toujours de preuve qu'un homme de beaucoup d'esprit peut faire de tres sots enfants. Mr le Card. de Polignac a grande raison de conserver ces precieux restes de l'antiquité pour l'ornement de sa patrie ; mais Madame la Vicomtesse l'a encore mieux servie, en luy donnant non des statues mais des hommes qui seront un jour aussy utiles qu'agreables ». Il parle encore du « pauvre Mr de Lambert », veuf inconsolable : « sur ma parolle il vaudra bien mieux sans cette femme. [...] Pour moy mon cher president, je tache à passer tranquillement mes jours, et je trouve reellement dans une douce société de quoy me consoler de mon eloignement du grand monde ». Il incite Montesquieu à venir séjourner à Orléans chez Mme Richard Cantillon (sa maîtresse, veuve de Richard Cantillon, que Bulkeley va bientôt épouser): « elle est tres sensible à l'honneur de votre souvenir, elle vous demande une lettre à Fatime [allusion aux Lettres persanes], et que vous confirmiez ses esperances qu'elle trouvera là haut ces hommes divins que vous lui avez promis, car ceux d'icy bas sont bien loin de leur perfection ». Puis sur la mort du Prince Eugène (21 avril) : « pour moy jen suis affligé sans l'avoir jamais vû, parce qu'il n'existe plus d'hommes de cette espece ; on peut dire que c'étoit le dernier general qui restoit »...

Getting an export license requires a 5 to 10 week deadline that may be reduced depending on how fast the buyer will instruct S.V.V. LE BRECH & ASSOCIES on his/her decisions.

Contract: Purchased lots will become available only after payment in-full has been made. The sale will be conducted in Euros.

Purchasers will pay in addition to the hammer price, a buyer's premium of 19.23 % VAT excluded or 23 % VAT included (+ internet premium bid 3%).
Payment: By exemption, clause 14 from law from the 10th of July 2000 stipulates: «Should the buyer fail to pay the amount due, and after notice to pay has been given by S.V.V. LE BRECH & ASSOCIES to the buyer without success, the lot is re-offered for sale at the seller's request, under the French procedure known as "procédure de folle enchère"(crazy bid). If the seller does not make this request within two months from the date of the sale, the sale will be automatically cancelled, without prejudice to any damages owed by the defaulting buyer».

If the buyer fails to pay the hammer price and fees, a formal notice will be sent to him buyer by certified mail with acknowledgement of receipt. Unless payment is received within 10 days following the reception of this formal notice, additional fees of 10% on the hammer price, with a minimum of €250, will be applied in order to cover the recovery expenses. Enforcement of this stipulation does not prevent from granting financial damages and at the expense of the procedure that it would require, and does not prejudge a potential crazy bid may be carried out.
