Notes: The authenticity of these works has been confirmed by Pierre Brullé.
Painted in 1919, the present works and those comprising lot 281 are the original watercolours Kupka executed as illustrations for A. Ferdinand Herold's anthology of Greek love poems, La guirlande d'Aphrodite, published by Piazza, Paris, in 1923.
