Description: Frederick James Lockwood, West Norwood, London, large bracket clock in the Gothic style, carved oak case with buttress corners supporting turned columns, the molded base with lancet arch blind fret, lancet arch door below a carved lintel, the tympanum with applied, modified foil and hawksbill molding, all topped with foliate carving and decorative finials, case sides with pierced wooden frets, Arabic numeral silvered dial with gilt spandrels, with subsidiary dials for selecting chime tune, mode and regulation, blued steel hands, and substantial, 8 day, 3 train fusee movement, sounding the quarters on four or eight bells and counting the hours on a large gong, the back plate also signed, c1845

Condition Report: case refinished, sides with grain splits at top, minor chips and dings, minor loss to blind fret at base on left side, pierced frets with minor losses, case top with split, also with a repaired split, hawksbill molding on left and right case sides replaced with a molding of incorrect profile, buttress molding under right column replaced, a few small, applied carvings missing, molding above left column loose, center finial with repair at bottom, edge of back door with minor splintering and losses, dial restored, hands with minor oxidation, movement ticks, chimes, and strikes
