Provenance: With a photo expertise from Ms Gertrud Overbeck, Friends of the Foundation Fritz and Hermine Overbeck, Bremen-Vegesack, from 4 June 1997. This painting was done during a study trip to a north German heath landscape on September 6th in 1891, according to the expertise. At this time the Bremen native Fritz Overbeck was still studying at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Overbeck gets in touch with the academic artist's club 'Tartarus' through Otto Modersohn from Worpswede, as early as in 1891. [RS] Good overall impression. With small retouchings, especially in the area of the sky. Right margin with split, skilfully restored and retouched.
