GAUDIER-BRZESKA, Henri. Ink drawing of two dancing figures, 190 x 130mm. Provenance: Ezra Pound (1885-1972)--Olga Rudge (1885-1996)--Quentin Keynes (loosely-inserted autograph note signed from Olga Rudge to Quentin Keynes, Venice, 28 September 1987 stating 'This detached drawing is by Henri Gaudier and came from his personal sketch book, given to Ezra Pound by him, and now presented to Quentin Keynes by Olga Rudge as a token of gratitude for advice and for locating 'A Lume Spento'!!!-Olga').

Woodcut publisher's device after Edward Wadsworth on colophon, 20 illustrations on 19 sheets after Gaudier-Brzeska. (First leaf somewhat marked, colophon darkened and creased in upper margin.) Later morocco-backed boards, spine lettered in gilt. FIRST EDITION, NO.22 OF 250 COPIES.

AN ORIGINAL DRAWING BY GAUDIER-BRZESKA FROM POUND'S COLLECTION. The drawing is illustrated on the title page of Henri Gaudier-Brzeska 1891-1915 and is the first plate of the work, which illustrates 18 drawings from the artist's notebooks and two drawings which 'illustrate poems in [Gaudier-Brzeska's] own copy of Mr. Pound's "Ripostes". All the drawings are reproduced by the courtesy of Mr. Ezra Pound with the exception of the dancing figure, which is due to the kindness of Miss Nina Hamnett' (colophon). (2)
