In a non-dominant culture a destructive activist is capable of analysis.A subject painted upside down is suitable for painting, because it is unsuitable as an object. I cannot say anything about the solidarity of depiction. There is no correction of the depiction in terms of right and wrong. My relationship towards the subject is arbitrary. The picture is methodically organised through an aggressive, dissonant reversal of ornamentation.Harmony begins to totter, and a further limit has been reached".(From: Detlev Gretenkort (ed.), Georg Baselitz, Gesammelte Schriften und Interviews, Munich 2011, p.60)
