Description: George III Mahogany Tripod Table In the manner of Thomas Chippendale Circa 1775 The dished circular top with serpentine edges, above a stop fluted flaring standard and a long leaf carved urn, raised on scroll carved channeled legs and feet, on pads. Height 21 inches (53.3 cm), diameter of top 10 inches (25.4 cm). The present table shares characteristics with furniture from the workshop of Thomas Chippendale. These include fine timber, delicate undercutting of the long leaves of the urn standard, the C-scrolls to the tops of the legs and scrolled toes with pads to the undersides. C 
Condition Report: Overall good restored condition, minor age cracks to top, end of hairline crack with replaced 1 1/2 inch thumbmolded dished top edge, top warped, beautiful carving to leaves at bottom of stem, age crack to top and bottom of stem, repaired break to juncture of legs and now with a screw, carved molding to legs worn, especially to feet, minor chips to carving. 18th c.
