Description: George III satinwood strung mahogany chest on chest

circa 1780

In two sections: the cavetto molded cornice above three short and three long graduated drawers, between fluted canted corners, the lower section with brushing slide above three graduted long drawers, all line inlaid, raised on bracket feet.

H: 68 1/2, W: 40 1/2 in.


Property from Ditchley, the Colonial house formerly the Virginia home of Alfred I. and Jessie Ball Dupont.

Condition Report: Some areas of damade/loss/repair to veneer.
Some surface scratching.
Cracks to either side of top section.
