Description: 5th-7th century AD. A mixed pair of silver belt buckles comprising: a large discoid plaque with three substantial rivets attached to the returned end, round-section loop, tapering round-section tongue with curved forward end; a small cruciform plaque with notched discoid finial, round-section loop, round-section tongue with ribbed end. 73 grams total, 58-79mm (2 1/4 - 3 1/4"). Property of a professional gentleman, acquired 2011; formerly in a private collection formed before 1950. [2, No Reserve]
