Few very pale spots to January plate, mild toning to boards and endpapers. Grasset produced Les Mois as a calendar for La Belle Jardinière; each engraving features a lovely young lady tending her garden. "A lady’s book à la mode with comely maidens dressed in 'aesthetic' free-flowing costumes. These garden settings are a foil for [Grasset's] sense of formalized surface patterns."
