Description: 6th-5th century BC. A black-glazed piriform jar with flared foot, broad neck, strap handle, reserved panel with laurel-leaf to the rim, palmettes within tendrils, meander band, figural scene with a bearded winged figure supporting the body and legs of a nude(?) female outlined in sgraffito technique, tendrils and pellets in the field. 625 grams, 25cm (9 3/4"). Property of a gentleman; previously from a German collection formed in the early 1980s.
