Description: 3rd-2nd century BC. A designer necklace of ancient elements, eight heart-shaped gold plaques each with an inset iridescent glass panel and glass bead finial; central pendant, a crescentic cell with glass insert, three iridescent dangles, with later tubular blue lapis lazuli and yellow-green chalcedony beads with interstitial irregular pearls; modern clasp. 13 grams, 50cm (19 3/4"). Property of a London gentleman; formerly in the Alain Darer collection in the late 1970s.
