Description: A nice Greek red-figure olpe depicting a satyr petting a hound, Apulia, 4th Century BC, the satyr is seated nude on rocks and with his extended right hand scratches the ears of a seated dog who faces him, a garment above and floral decoration to either side of the base of the handle. H: 5 3/8 in (13.7 cm). Light surface deposit and a whimsical type!
