Description: Grete Jalk (1920-2006) for Poul Jeppesens Mobelfabrik
PJ 56 lounge chairs, pair
Denmark, c.1956
teak
one with paper label, one with ink stamp
cushions included but not shown
28.5"w x 32"d x 36.5"h

Condition Report: The Collection of Anthony Nelson, Munich, Germany. No water rings or stains. No chips or cracks. Original finish to both chairs. Light wear consistent with age and use over time. Sturdy and structurally sound. The upholstered cushions do not match each other and may not be original. There is a slight color difference to the wood of the two chairs; they may be an assembled pair. All of the seat straps are intact. Some scuffs to the legs. All of the wood screw cover caps are intact on one chair; they are all missing on the other chair. One chair has brass pegs to the back of the backrest for securing a headrest cushion; the pegs are missing from the other chair (but the backrest has holes where the pegs would have been). The chair show at left is slightly shorter than the chair on the right.
