Description: Prominent, original work on the Five Chumashim by Rabbi Yehuda Leib Frankfurt - Shapiro.Specifications: [3], 76 leaves. 20 cm. Thick paper. First edition.Background: The author was born in Altona in 1743 and passed away at the advanced age of 93 in Tevet of 1836. He was buried with great honor in Hamburg. His brother was Rabbi Menachem Mendel Frankfurt, Av Beit Din of Altona.Rabbi Yehuda Leib was the great-uncle of Rabbi Samson Refael Hirsch, and his nephew refers to his HaRechasim L'Bika in his elucidations on the Torah and Psalms (Chachmei Ah"u, 109). Condition: Moderate-fine. Marginal blemishes in a number of the first leaves.
