Description: after Rembrandt, charcoal on laid paper, 360 x 305mm., inscribed ink on verso in a 19th century hand Raising of Lazarus, Copied from Rembrandt, by J.S. Harford, before 1812; with a similar drawing of the Deposition of Christ, seemingly by the same hand , 410 x 475mm., indistinctly inscribed on verso ?Cop. Tiziano , both unframed, early 19th century; with Harford's etching of the Roman Forum, untitled, 415 x 585mm., indistinctly inscribed in pencil, E with my love J.S.H, lower right ; and View of the Ponte rotto, and the Temple of Vesta , also by Harford, the figures by Pinelli, 255 x 325mm., both unframed, 1817; with a pencil sketch of an Italian landscape, and a preliminary botanical study, by another hand, all preserved in a large, early 19th century, half-morocco, library portfolio with the bookplate of John Charles Harford pasted inside the upper board (6) Provenance: by descent from the artist.
