Condition Report: The sculpture is comprised of 21 rods. The color of the base is mottled and varies from brown to darker brown/black. Some darker brown small moisture stains on one side of the base and approx eight areas of oxidation or similar light-colored staining in other areas of the base. In the area where the rods are fused, there is darker coloration on the base. A few rods with a few nicks and scuffs. All of the rods exhibit discoloration, alternating between black and spots of lighter gray in a regular pattern. This is more concentrated in the vertical central third. The cattails also showing nicks, scuffs and wear consistent with contact with other rods. One or two of the rods with diagonal striations of minor scuffs. When the sculpture is at rest, the tops are not exactly in alignment, though none of them have an obvious bend. Showing general wear, but otherwise generally in good condition.

Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid.
