An installation view of the 1951 Photographs by Harry Callahan exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago shows this image displayed (cf. Harry Callahan: The Photographer at Work, p. 184, fig. 23). A very similar study of what is almost certainly the same sign, dated 1945, is reproduced in the catalogue for Callahan's 1964 exhibition at the El Mochuelo Gallery (pl. 30).
