HENRI FUGÈRE [FRENCH, 1872-1944], GILT BRONZE & IVORY SCULPTURE, 12" X 7", THE MUSICIAN: Image depicts a young woman seated on a table which is accented by lions' heads and paw feet, while she plays the lyre. She is portrayed in a Classical style garment and the sculpture rests on an onyx base [repaired]. Her garment is signed "Fugere", the back of the table is stamped "5785" and the underside of the base is stamped "Fabrication Francais Paris-G.M.". Includes a replacement onyx base which is inscribed "France".
