Shinto. Japan, approximately 16th to 17th century
The blade Hirazukuri with Iorimune, the Hamon a narrow Midare with shining Nie. On both sides multiple, partly wavy Tateware. The Nakago with two Ana, the end Kurijiri. The Mei HISA-MITSU 久 光, presumably out of the area Bizen-Osafune.
The lacquer-black Saya imitates leather. All parts of the mounting are out of iron, with scattered gilded Zogan. Only the Menuki underneath the black-leather Tsuka-ito are bronze and show flying birds in front of a golden background. The small iron Tsuba has Mokko-gata, one Hitsu and is flat on both sides. The Kozuka is missing.
