Description: HUIA FEATHER The huia's feathers were highly valued and exchanged for other valuable goods such as greenstone and sharks teeth, or given as tokens of friendship and respect. Through this trade, the feathers reached the far north and south of New Zealand. They were stored in intricately carved boxes, wakahuia. L.200mm, W.42mm.
