HUNTING -- ROOSEVELT, Th. African game trails. An account of the African wanderings of an American hunter-naturalist. NY, Charles Scribner's Sons, 1910. 2 vols. In March 1909, shortly after the end of his presidency, Theodore Roosevelt left New York for the Smithsonian-Roosevelt African Expedition, a safari in east and central Africa outfitted by the Smithsonian Institution. Financed by Andrew Carnegie and by his own writings, Roosevelt's party hunted for specimens for the Smithsonian Institution and for the American Museum of Natural History in New York. - One of 500 numbered copies, signed by the author, printed on Ruisdael paper by the De Vinne Press.
