Description: Drops set with lapis lazuli or glass paste.
Fine Imperial Roman gold earrings featuring onyx cameos of female busts, the coiffures related to the ruling classes of the 3d Century AD. The cameos are set in gold sheet bezels worked in repousse, symmetrical vegetal motif drops in repousse sheet attached by wire jump rings, the drops set with lapis lazuli or paste gems in central circular bezels. Intact, 3d Century AD, probably Italy.
