Tapered, oval shape with slightly-raised shoulders; finely moulded and pierced with nine, Buddhist lion playing and chasing brocade balls among clouds; the scene is enclosed in two, ruyi bands surrounding the foot and the neck; featuring an old label at the base. Missing cover. Between the 18th and the 19th Century, most of the Imperial production in Jingdezhen consisted in molded and monochrome snuff bottles like this, inspired to the ivory bottles from the palace workshops (the so-called 'imperial ivoryâ€ groups).
