Description: Pitched-Pediment Tall Chest on FramePiedmont, North Carolina, circa 1810, inscriptions including "William Needham"(?), walnut with poplar secondary, the dentil-molded pitched pediment set with [fleur-de-lis] and quarter fan appliqués, the original frame with deeply scalloped skirt and cabriole legs with slipper feet, 78-1/2 x 45 x 23 in., refinished, brasses replaced, otherwise generally good condition, minor losses and repairs at dentils, back of one top drawer illegibly inscribed in pencil, frame in good condition, some distress at top moldings, appliques appear to be original, patch at one spur on side, very minor chips at feet, bed molding with gap at one corner and later applied filets at interior (likely to account for shrinkage),.
