Description: 4th-3rd century BC. A pair of silver fibulae comprising: a slender pin with coiled spring, round-section bow, lateral catch and raised foot with hatching to the face; one similar with conical knop finial. Cf. Hattatt, R. Ancient and Romano-British Brooches, Sherborne, 1982, item 2 for type. 9.51 grams total, 35-50mm (1 1/2 - 2"). From the private collection of a German gentleman; acquired prior to 1999. [2]
