Description: 5th-4th century BC. A gold fibula of La Tène I comprising a slender pin and integral single coil spring, broadening D-section bow with two lines of punched pellets, catch flanking the returned foot with irregular twist. Cf. Heynowski, R. Bestimmungsbuch Archaeologie: Fibeln, Munich, 2012, item 3.9 for type. 6.57 grams, 50mm (2"). From the private collection of a German gentleman; acquired prior to 1999.
