Description: 1st century BC-1st century AD. A bronze bow brooch formed as a an advancing horse; the hind leg pierced at the edge to accept the iron spring and choir, the horse's body forming a deep bow, bifacial with ring-and-dot detailing, the neck arched with reins connecting to the small head, the foreleg extended with a hare(?) forming the catchplate. 25 grams, 51mm (2"). From the private collection of a German gentleman; acquired prior to 1999.
