Description: 12th-14th century AD. A penannular bronze crescentic armlet with three applied rectangular plaques to the outer edge, the larger median one with silver-inlaid text bil-Yum, al-iqbal, wa-dawla, li Sahiba, translating to 'with good fortune, prosperity, wealth and well being to the owner'; mounted on a custom-made stand. See Blair, S.S. Islamic Inscriptions, Edinburgh, 1998 for discussion. 232 grams, 97mm including stand (4"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired London art market, 1970-1980.
