Description: J Adamson, London: a 17th century bracket clock, the arch top brass dial 7in wide by 10 in high, the top arch with hand painted moon dial and arabic numerals for month, engraved with biblical figures and inscribed 'Zacheus In de Vigge Boom' and 'De Cununeese Vrou', above the arch inscribed '123 Langsaam Gauwer 123'. The face with pierced brass spandrels, silvered chapter dial with both Roman and Arabic numerals engraved Teert Ratsma Harlingen. Matted central area with two winding holes. Fusee movement, with bell, the backplate engraved overall with foliate scrolls and J Adamson London. In an ebonised case, with caddy top and brass carry handle modelled as two mermaids, corners surmounted by four pineapple finials, moulded base on four gilt feet. The sides with pierced roundels and rectangular sections lined with lilac cloth. With key and winder in office.
