A PAIR OF 12-BORE LIGHTWEIGHT 1876 PATENT ''THE AUTOMATIC'' PUSH-FORWARD UNDERLEVER SIDELOCK NON-EJECTORS, serial no. 4358 / 9,
29in. nitro reproved Whitworth-steel chopperlump barrels, ribs engraved ''THE AUTOMATIC'' and ''JAMES WOODWARD & SONS, 64 ST JAMES''S STREET. LONDON. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH''S FLUID PRESSED STEEL'', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/4 choke, T. Southgate and J. Woodward 1876 patent actions, patent no. 600, use numbers 559 and 560, side-clipped arcaded fences, protruding tumbler pivots with gold-inlaid cocking indicators, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid ''SAFE'' details, profusely engraved with fine scrollwork acanthus scrollwork, retaining some original colour-hardening, 14 3/8in. highly-figured stocks including ebonite buttplates (one chipped), weight 6lb. 6oz.
