Etching and drypoint printed in dark brownish black on cream laid paper, 1879-80. 152x231 mm; 6x9 inches. MacDonald''s sixth state (of 6), with the fisherman''s head and figure shaded. Edition of approximately only 30. Signed with the butterfly and inscribed "imp" in pencil on the tab lower left, and counter signed with the butterfly in pencil, verso. From Twenty-Six Etchings. A brilliant impression, with selective wiping of the ink in the water. Kennedy 208; Glasgow 198.
