signed and indistinctly dated 'JWARD R.A. 1820[?]' ('WARD' in monogram, lower right) and with identifying inscription 'Worthy a favourite Hunter by Worthy out of Elizabeth by Waxy - bred by Mυr W. Wigram.' (on an old handwritten label on the reverse)
