Description: James Woodford (after) for Minton's, a set of ten bone china Queen's Beasts , first produced 1955, printed marks, the lion of England 15.3cm high, in a display box; and a promotional leaflet In July 1954 Queen Elizabeth II was presented with a bone china vase by the British Pottery Manufacturers' Confederation to mark the coronation of the porevious year. It was designed by John Wadsworth and made by several fine china makers with the set of free-standing Beasts at the base supplied by Minton. Minton adapted the bases of the Beasts for release to the public as a set of ten, or individually, in a limited edition.
