Engraving, circa 1600-05. 272x207 mm; 10 3/4x8 1/8 inches, narrow to thread margins. Second state (of 3). Four quadrant coat-of-arms watermark. Ex-collection Albert van Loock (Lugt 3752, verso). A brilliant, early impression of this exceptional Mannerist print, with crisp, partially inky plate edges and the guide lines for the text in the lower margin distinct.

Alternately titled Venus Grows Cold without Ceres and Bacchus (Love Grows Cold without Food and Wine). Bartsch 28; Hollstein 75.
