Jaydee Atom 600
This car originated in the UK as an Ariel Atom 2 with the 245bhp Honda Type R motor. It was purchased in 2004 by Open Wheeler Imports, who were Ariel's agent in New Zealand and Australia. It was at the NZ Auckland motor show in 2004 and was used for customer demonstrations in NZ at Pukekohe race track.
After 3000klms of testing and data logging using the Motec ADL2 with the Pro software, a new 10' longer wheelbase chassis was designed and built. Better weight distribution, improved roll centers, improved and strengthened suspension design were all achieved with stability improved. Cornering is now over 1.2G on a windy road without being silly, without wings.
The 2.5 Litre supercharged has driver adjustable power settings from 350Whp to 594Whp and includes variable boost control, Traction control and Boost by gear. The engine has been rebuilt and a new clutch fitted for the new owners piece of mind. This engine combination has exception low speed driveability happily driving at 35kph in 6th gear for road cruises. The supercharged motor provides instant throttle response without the lag normally felt in turbocharged cars. The Jaydee Atom's power to weight is 635Bhp/700Klgs or almost 1 to 1 making for a breath taking exerience on full throttle. To put this in perspective that is approximately twice that of a "Lamborghini Aventador".
The Jaydee Atom 600 has full current Victorian Rego till mid 2017 with the personal plates "JDATOM".
