Description: signed Jean Du Noüy and dated '89 (lower left)

Notes: A student of Gleyre and of Gérôme, Lecomte du Noüy was a travelling painter. The countries he visited (Italy, Egypt, Morocco, and Spain) were his main source of inspiration.

A study for the present work was exhibited in Lecomte du Noüy, Souvenires de voyages, Galerie Hahn in Paris, September-October 1995, as no.152.
