Description: JOAN MIRÓ
(spanish, 1893-1983)
"BRONZES"
hayward gallery, london exhibition poster
1972, pencil signed and numbered 145/150 (from the edition before lettering), with wide margins, Arts Council, London publisher. Color lithograph on Arches.
image: 27 x 20 1/2 in. (68.5 x 52cm)
sheet: 34 3/4 x 24 5/16 in. (86.3 x 61.7cm)
[Mourlot, 846]

Condition Report: Please note that Mourlot calls for a sheet size of 34 7/8 x 24 7/16 in. The sheet size on the present work falls very slight short of this, although they are no obvious signs of trimming such as nicks or cuts along the edges.
Recto:
With thin surface abrasions in places generally at the center of the composition including a 5-in. thin, irregularly horizontal line and an irregularly vertical 4-in. line in the red/green/black eye at left (with intermittent areas of black loss), another at the top of the printed 'M' and a few areas of abraded and nicked paper fibers in the uninked areas at lower center and in the open areas of the 'M.' With a pair of approx. 2-in. creases in the yellow at upper center, two on either side of the 'I' and another pair in the uninked area at bottom right of center.
Verso:
With two approx. 14-in. long strips of thin cellophane tape adhered along the reverse of the upper and right sheet edges. Very minor skinning in places along the upper margin edge, pale surface soiling. Hinged to the overmat in two places at the reverse of the upper sheet edges (two small linen tabs at the bottom of the sheet edge were cut to allow examination of the reverse.)

Otherwise, generaly in good condition.

Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports.
