JOHN HUBBARD RICH (American, 1876-1954) WASH DAY BY THE RIVER; IN A THULIN FRAME. Oil on canvas scene shows two people next to water with small waterfall washing clothes. A building is seen on the right side with tall poplar type trees in background. Signed bottom right "JH Rich, 06". Probably a painting when Rich was in France. FRAME: A fine carved wood gilt frame with red wash to back and carved signature "1941 Thulin" with artist monogram. PROVENANCE: Thulin Estate, Hamden, Maine. Handed down through family descent from Walfred Thulin (1878-1949). Thulin worked for the Carrig-Rohane Workshop until he had his own shop in Boston from 1912 into the 1940's. SIZE: 18" x 15'. FRAME: Inside is 15-1/4" x 18-1/8". Outside is 21-1/8" x 18-1/8". CONDITION: Pencil tip hole in figure, otherwise very good. Frame is very good. 9-29903
