Cette image est issue du projet d'ouvrage "Portrait(s) du Monde" dans lequel Jonathan Zabriskie photographie des grandes personnalités, comme Ahmad Shah Massoud, Mikhaïl Gorbatchev, Nelson Mandela ou encore le Dalaï Lama. L'une des photographies prises lors de cette séance (quelques jours avant la mort de Massoud) sert désormais de portrait officiel dans les ambassades afghanes.
