Handwritten volume containing כתבי קודש מהרב החסיד האלוקי מו"ה פנחס מקאריץ ז"ל [writings from the G-dly chassid, Pinchas of Korzec].This manuscript was copied prior to the Holocaust from a manuscript owned by the Imrei Emes. As written at the beginning הועתק אות באות מכתבי קודש שנתן כ"ק אדמו"ר מגור שליט"א [בעל אמרי אמת] מעזבון אביו בעל ה'שפת אמת' זצוקללה"ה [copied letter for letter from the Kitvei Kodesh that the Admo"r of Gur gave from the bequest of his father the Sifat Emet].Three ledgers. [84]; [37]; [12] leaves. Very fine condition. Entirely complete. Kitvei HaKodesh includes commentaries on all aspects of the Torah and machshava: commentaries on the Torah, Mishnah, Gemara, sections of the Zohar, Halacha and Aggada, Kavanot of prayers and mitzvoth; proper behaviors; Shabbat and holidays, homilies, segulot, anecdotes and stories. This manuscript was owned by Rabbi Pinchas Chodrov, who was martyred in the Holocaust. He was a descendant of Rabbi Pinchas of Korzec. He entrusted the manuscript to a gentile acquaintance when he was in the Tarnow ghetto during the Holocaust. He recorded the details prior to transferring the manuscript to the gentile. Rabbi Pinchas Chodrov did not survive the Holocaust. After the war, the gentile sold the manuscript to a Jewish family in Paris. The story was copied and published as a facsimile at the start of Imrei Pinchas ,1984. It includes the following text הכתבים הללו...הם חידושים מאדוני אבי זקני גדול מרבן שמו מהר"ר פנחס מקאריץ..הם אכסמפלר יחידי בעולם...היה בבית אוצר הספרים של דודי חותני הרה"ק אדמו"ר מגור שליט"א...ויש בהם אוצר בלום של פרי מחשבות קודש לא יערכם כל שווי. [These writings...are novella from my ancestor...Pinchas of Korzec ...they are a unique exemplar....it was located in the library of my uncle...Admo"r of Gur shlita...and they contain a treasury of invaluable holy thoughts.] At the end of his letter Rabbi Pinchas prays for survival, but adds אבקש למי שיגיע המכתב הזה לידו שידע נאמנה כן מן השמים זיכוהו באוצר קדוש כזה.As mentioned, after the Holocaust these writings were discovered and most were printed in the aforementioned book, Imrei Pinchas, after undergoing editing and revisions. It was first printed in [1974] and then again in [1988]. The publisher of the [1988] edition writes in his introduction that he reedited and revised the book. Careful comparison between the manuscript and the printed work highlights many hundreds of significant variations between the manuscript and the printed version. This original manuscript also contains excerpts from the Torah of the Imrei Emes of Gur that were never printed.>> Rare important manuscript. The only manuscript of its kind. It miraculously survived the war. It features the Torah of one of the patriarchs of Chassidut, preserved in its original format. Exceptionally important.
