Kent Postal History: 1766-1832, the selection of fourteen entires or entire letters, mostly sent from overseas showing Deal or Dover Ship Letter marks, including 1766 from Jamaica and 1816 from Barbados, both with content relating to slavery; 1772 to Scotland with "BARBA/DOES" h.s.; 1793, 1794 and 1828 letters written on board ships with interesting content - the last mentions "procuring skulls of Kangaroos, Emus, etc." for the Royal College of Surgeons", 1838 letter describing ice-floes which had blocked the Thames and Calais, etc., also 1827 and 1838 soldier's letters and 1838 entire surcharged for abuse of the Parliamentary Free Frank system; mostly good to very fine.
