Kent Postal History: Maritime: Dover: 1767-1852, The collection of forty-five entires or entire letters, including "DOVER/SHIP LRE" (with or without hyphen) duplicated examples of Robertson types S.1 to S.4, concave "DOVER/SHIP LRE" type S.5, oval "Ship Letter/(CROWN)/DOVER" type S.6 (two examples), oval "SHIP LETTER/(CROWN)/DOVER" type S.8 (three examples), framed "DOVER/SHIP LETTER" type S.9 (three examples), framed "SHIP LETTER/DOVER" types S.10 and S.11 (eight examples in black, red or blue - also two showing the handstamps additionally applied to mail incorrectly struck with India Letter marks, one of which is cancelled by the red 'crutched' cross h.s.), unframed "SHIP LETTER/DOVER" type S.12 in red, range of India Letter handstamps, 1844 envelope with framed "M B" (Moveable Box) type MB.1, etc, the letters from various points of origin: America, Canton, France, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Madeira, Smyrna, and a number written on board ship. The strikes and items mostly good to very fine, neatly mounted and written-up on pages. A fascinating lot worthy of careful inspection
