Pierre Mac Orlan, Paris. Silver print on carte-postale paper (trimmed with a small margin), 3 1/8x4 inches (7.9x10.2 cm.). 1927

Notes: From the Estate of Allen Oxenburg.
Pierre Mac Orlan was a French novelist and songwriter. He is pictured here with his accordion, which he learned to play as a young man. He would become a feature of the Parisian Bohemian art circles, and played frequently at the Lapin Agile. By the 1920s, Mac Orlan had become a noted film and photography critic.
