Description: Artist: ANONYMOUS Size: 59 x 36 1/4 in./149.7 x 92 cm Imp. Alphonse Daude, Paris (not shown) In 1908, brothers Jean and Alphonse Thomann started a bicycle company which, three years later, would be sold to a third party due to a family quarrel. Not one to give up, Alphonse brought the brand back in 1923, reinstating its original mascot of the elephant - shown here to be so desirous of the bike that he'd rip his own trunk off to get one.
