Description: 3 December 1900 PARIS. Action de F100. brown, green. #3000. No 2899. Pretty piece, with fine vignette of a cylinder-type phonograph of the period ('La Sirène'), and a song-bird. Border of chestnuts. Some Jugendstil. The company was founded to sell all types of phonographs and gramophones, and accessories, especially cylinders and phonograms. It was in 1877 that Edison patented his first phonograph, but it was only ten years later that commercially practical models became available. Some years later, after the issue of this share, the cylinder was replaced by the disc or record.
