QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
distemper on cloth, the figure of Amitayus seated in dhyanasana atop a lotus throne, hands held in the meditative pose of dhyana mudra, supporting the kalasha, a vessel with the nectar of immortality, the body of deep-red complexion wearing a dhoti and jewels, surrounded by a leaf-shaped mandorla framed by a myriad of flowers and foliage, below a small figure of Buddha Shakyamuni
