Description: Artist: O'GALOP (Marius Rossillon, 1867-1946) Size: 45 7/8 x 62 1/2 in./116.5 x 158.8 cm Imp. Chaix, Paris In 1896, O'Galop first introduced the cigar-smoking Bibendum to the public as the new mascot of Michelin tires. Seventeen years later, he gives us this shockingly in-your-face design, with text roughly translating to "the sole kick" (semelle being both the sole of a shoe and the tread of a tire). This is the never-before-seen purple background variant of the poster. (auto, tire)
